Retro-Sippi

Shot on the Frozen Mississippi in Camanche, IA. I am wearing a Betty Barclay junior petite piece! I found this baby at a thrift store in my hometown for just a few dollars! Matched with some purple tights and oxfords I thought this look turned out really cute! It was absolutely freezing out there though! The 3rd photo of my set was Photoshopped to look a little grim. Although I am trying to show off my looks I still love to play with the story of a photo and the sheets of ice were so photogenic.
This set will be the last of my looks I will be posting until I have time to shoot some new ones! Plus I love working outside but I hate making my models freeze so I hope I can catch a day soon that I can get out there a style something fun an new!
For now I'll be posting a few other shoots I have done with people and also some of my older more artistic photos I am proud of and would love to throw back into the lime light for appreciation!
Who knows I might take photos of my drawings from my life drawing class and give them a show.

Raccoon Gaucho

The day after Thanksgiving I was inspired to go out on a fierce solo shoot so I could show off these awesome vintage gauchos. I probably won't go off into the dirt hills of Plainfield alone again because I was on someones property and "agriculture" guys ride these dirt hills on the regular in their giant trucks. I don't know why I wasn't expecting to run into someone out there. So of course I'm standing there in this huge raccoon fur coat and in Jeffery Campbell Litas trying to set up my tripod in a good spot, when these guys fly over the hill in this huge truck... Thank baby jesus that I actually knew one of them because I was scared shitless. Pretty much because they could of robbed and killed me.
After that awkward encounter I didn't lose too much light and the cold was tolerable, these are some of my favorite shots.

Played around with this vintage Resistol western hat. If only I had a Horse the gaucho hat combo would have been on point! But I threw in the raccoon coat which I think brings the $ look.

Photography done by myself.

Grabbed these gauchos in Davenport, IA at Trashcan Annie's. Laura the owner told me that these gauchos were actually hers back in the day. I was flattered to have her sell them to me! Laura and I clicked so hard. She is like my fashion soul-mate.

Special thanks to my neighbor Gina for the raccoon coat! She had it in her garage sale and saw how much I loved it and just ended up giving it to me for my birthday. I'm not crazy about furs but this coon coat its flashy as hell, and I am into the good kind of flashy.

I realized that pretty much most of my photos are all full length body shots. After I post what I have to post from my looks I have already shot I will be sure to start capturing details and jewelry!

Sun Set

This photo set is of Miss Jasmine Zepeda showing off a handmade sac style bag. As of right now I have only made one of these bags but I want to get some feed back on it! Maybe I will make some by request and sell them online if they are wanted.

I plan on making an online store in the next couple months to start selling my vintage collection after I have done photos of the pieces and posted them online. All though I have been recommended to make an etsy account It has been brought to my attention that I can sell my pieces on another site besides etsy so I can make the most of my sales!

She Got Nude In The Woods

This look Is a follow up of my first post. This is the matching skirt and bloomers to the that blouse. Once again Jasmine Zepeda is modeling this look, quite fiercely I might add. I was going for a definite feminine outdoor look. The 3 piece set all together is very baby doll and prairie like so I decided to match it with ivory sweater from H&M with a long sleeve lace top from Express. The hat and boots are courtesy of Jasmine but I thought they really completed the look. Photography done by Myself.
Oh and if you have any thoughts about my page design I'd love to hear! I want to make sure I am not murdering your eyes with high contrast in color when reading!

Hello Blogger! Here goes my intro...

I have been inspired to create this blog for many reasons! I have currently realized that My Flickr account has been declining in views and I can start to post my work regularly on this blog rather than on flickr with less of a hassle and more personality! Eventually I will be able to ditch flickr all together and slap this sexy url on my business card. I need a postive let out that I can manage and this should help keep my ideas and past creations nice and tidy.
ANY WHO lets get to business here! This will be my first legit blog that I have designed to show the world my creativity! I will be posting anything and everything I am proud that I have produced. That can range from a painting to a styled shoot I did with vintage clothing. Who Knows? I might also occasionally post other looks I find inspiring, and maybe a little music that I have been recently jamming to.

This is my lovely friend Jasmine Zepeda wearing a vintage blouse I found at Trash Can Annie's in Davenport, IA. This blouse is originally part of a 3 piece set, including a matching skirt and bloomers! I styled them separately and I will be posting those photos soon!
